About Me
I’m Nagaraj Rathinam, an independent cinematographer for 11 years who treats light not merely as illumination, but as emotion, texture, and narrative.

From high-speed car sequences to quiet human moments, I’ve crafted visuals for some of the world’s leading brands across automotive, lifestyle, and tech. My commercial work includes bold, cinematic campaigns for Toyota Glanza, Toyota Camry Hybrid, Toyota Yaris, Suzuki S-Cross, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Mustang, Ikea, LG, Dell, Google, Asian Paints, BGMI, Uber, Parimatch and many more.

In film and long-form storytelling, I strive to build images that linger.
-
CandyFlip (2017) — A raw, psychedelic thriller with Kalki Koechlin and Prakash Raj, where I designed its surreal, dreamlike tone for Netflix.
-
Crash Course (2022) — A coming-of-age series grounded in emotional pacing and deliberate composition.
-
Cash (2021) — A demonetization-era satire on Disney+ Hotstar, where the visual texture balanced grit with levity.
-
Mast Mein Rehne Ka (2023) — My most personal work to date, which earned me a Filmfare nomination for Best Cinematography.

This is my craft. And the journey is only just beginning.
